The Annual General Meeting of East Grinstead War Memorial Ltd was held at Chequer Mead on Wednesday 25 April 2007.

Allan Tyler was re-elected as Chairman and Philip Baker as Vice Chairman. Mrs Beverly Heasman, Mr P.K.A.Baker and Mr A.Tyler were elected to the Council of Management.

Mr Mick Manning, Treasurer, reported that the company was in a healthy and satisfactory financial position with investments gaining 12% in value during 2006.

The review of the charity's activities covered the current position vis a vis the football/rifle shooting club area, provision of a lamppost on the steps of the Jubilee Path, fencing work on the Holtye track and sponsorship of way markers on the town's 6 public "Walkabout" paths. The company had sponsored the Royal Artillery Band concert in Chequer Mead in support of SSAFA, Ashplatts Conservation Group, St Catherine's Hospice. East Grinstead Stoolball Club (Junior Section) and the Royal British Legion (East Grinstead).

Mr Peter Cadman, who had been a trustee since 1986, moved away from the district and retired from the Council of Management. Mr Mick Manning was appointed Treasurer in October. A welcome appointment as the company had been without a Treasurer for 18 months.
